The Problem

Child abuse and neglect is a problem of growing concern to all of us who care about children.  Each year, nationwide, millions of children are victims of child abuse and neglect; thousands of them in Michigan.  The number of cases to occur in the future is projected to be even higher, with a marked increase in both reported sexual and physical abuse cases so severe that the child is left permanently disabled or actually killed.

Newaygo County's Response

Since 1985 PCA of Newaygo County has developed a variety of programs designed to prevent child abuse caused by generations of dysfunctional behavior, lack of knowledge, poor communication skills, financial difficulties, single parenting, and substance abuse.  We are constantly monitoring information provided and any needs within our county for gaps in services.  We stand ready to create solutions individually or collaboratively.
